“Doing even a handful of the big changes that our world needs will take Leadership. Lots of leadership. The sort of leadership that is both strong-willed and collaborative. Leadership that we don͛t see much evidence of in the world today. There is a mountain of inertia that doesn’t want them done. Developing this kind of leadership takes time and doesn͛’t happen in isolation. It certainly doesn’t happen in expensive, elite leadership development retreats for already successful executives or high potentials late in their careers. I’m developing today’s approach to cultivating leadership. Adeption changes existing models of coaching. We make it easy to get lots and lots of people deliberately developing and practicing leadership skills from early on in their careers. It͛’s like having a leadership coach in your pocket for the price of a coffee a week. It definitely helps develop our users, improves their organizations and might even help the world.”
Carl Sanders-Edwards is the CEO & Founder of Adeption a platform that’s improving and democratizing leadership development for all through new, evidence-based, design-led approach to learning. He believes that leadership is no longer a role that one shoots for, but a required trait that everyone in the future must have. Sanders-Edwards started a leadership development service company and was shocked at how outdated and unscalable the processes were — they either didn’t work or were overly intensive and expensive. Hence, Sanders-Edwards saw a huge opportunity to bring a high niche form of leadership coaching into new streams of content and make a real impact in the work economy.
Sanders-Edwards has 20 years of experience bringing his platform of leadership education to global organizations and startups. Before founding Adeption, , Edwards was the Managing Director of JumpShift Development Ltd in Auckland, New Zealand. Prior to that, Edwards was the Founder and Managing Director of Real Consulting Ltd where he helped improve the effectiveness of client organizations. Before that, Edwards served on the Board of Advisors of Missing Link. Edwards achieved MBA from Babson College, Boston, where he was Platinum-Triangle Fulbright Scholar in Entrepreneurship, and graduated top of his class. He also has a Bachelor of Technology (Hons.) from Massey University, in New Zealand, and wasawarded the 2011 Massey University Distinguished Young Alumni.
In our Milestone Maker program, Sanders-Edwards is working on secure financing for his first product run. Stay tuned here for developments on his progress!
